Manual Lymph Drainage Massage

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a specialized rehabilitation therapy used to manually move stagnant lymph fluid out of affected areas of the body. MLD is a very effective yet gentle and very light manual technique that reduces swelling and detoxifies the skin and superficial fascia by promoting drainage within the superficial and deep systems of the lymph vascular network. .

MLD is very relaxing, and does NOT include any kind of muscle work.

MLD is a great massage technique for post-surgical edema; soft-tissue injuries; rheumatoid arthritis; fibromyalgia; whiplash; migraine headaches; PTSD; anxiety disorders; mild, medically-uncomplicated lymphedema; and more! This treatment is designed to aid clients in healing from certain injuries or trauma, soothe chronic pain, and relieve symptoms of certain ailments.

If you are interested in billing your insurance company to cover Medical Massage or MLD services, we are happy to provide detailed documentation of your visits upon request, in the form of an invoice with included CPT code. One benefit of the Medial Massage and Medical Manual Lymph Draining is that the therapist keep SOAP notes on the client and their progress. Please consult with your doctor and insurance provider if you are interested in this option to ensure you’re coverage extends to Massage Therapy.

Before booking any MLD massage please understand we do not remove any kind of drainage tubes.

Please make sure your doctor has cleared you to receive massage and/or bodywork, and all your incisions have healed completely and you have no open wounds.

As with any other massage, it is recommended that you wait at least 2 weeks to let your body recover and rest before receiving any kind of massage session after having a surgical procedure. Also recommended no sooner than 48 hours before any surgical procedure.
